Chapter 81-Nice Guys Finish Last

“Go home Sandi,” Caleb told his sister-in-law, “I can handle this from here.” The two had been working on solving the Dahlia Goodfellow murder case for many years now and Caleb knew that Sandi was way past retirement age. Dahlia was Sandi’s birth mother and even though they didn’t have a loving relationship, Sandi felt she owed it to Dahlia to see justice served for her brutal murder. Now that Pip had been arrested for the crime, it was time for her to retire. Her age was beginning to show and she owed it to herself to spend her golden years with her husband.

“Not until I see the final nail hammered into Pip’s coffin,” Sandi said. Sandi was a good detective and very thorough with her work. When she on a case she was like a dog with a bone as she wouldn’t give up until the case was solved. Caleb was really going to miss having her for a partner. Sandi was more than just a partner or a sister-in-law to him in fact he had come think of her as his real sister. “I want to see when that ballistic report comes back on the gun” she said. “This is my last case and I want to see it through to the end.

Caleb knew that it was pointless to argue with her as she was stubborn as the day was long but yet he had to give it a try. “You and my brother lost so many years together due to the Goodfellows don’t let them take anymore” Caleb said. His brother Dylan was missing for 12 years and the Goodfellow family were responsible for his kidnapping. Nothing could ever make up for those missing years but Caleb didn’t want these two wasting one more precious second together. “With the gun, the testimony of Tennille and Pip's own henchman he is going away for a good long time,” Caleb said, “It’s an open and shut case he will not wiggle his way out of this one.”

“I already put in my retirement papers but I want to wait for that final ballistic report to come in. I don’t know why but my sixth sense is telling me that I need to be here when it does.” Sandi said. Caleb knew that it was pointless to argue with a werewolf's sixth sense.

“It should be here any minute now and as soon as it comes in you are out of here.” Caleb said.

“I promise the minute I finishing reading that report I will leave this place for good,” Sandi assured him.

“If you don’t I will throw you out of here myself, bodily if I have to,” he said.

“No you won’t.” she said. “You are too much of a gentleman to throw an old lady out on her keister,” Sandi explained. “And I’m not just any old lady. I’m the old lady who taught you everything you know on the art of sim fu so you won’t be able to.  HI-YAH!” Sandi said as they both laughed.

A few minutes later there was a beep on Sandi’s computer that served as an alert to when he received a message. The message was from forensics with the ballistic report.

“If that is it,” Caleb said, “Start clearing off your desk, Detective. And that is an order.”

“Bossy today aren’t you?” Sandi answered back with a laugh.

Caleb walked around the desk and stood behind Sandi.   He looked over her shoulder to read the message as he was as anxious to read it as she was.

Now Sandi knew why her sixth sense told her to stay as neither one of them ever expected to read those words on the report.  Many years back Caleb told Sandi the story of how he was abandoned. This was a tale that was not shared with many people at all in fact Sandi was sure only her, her husband Dylan, and Caleb’s wife Hope knew of it. At the age of 5 in Riverview, Caleb’s mother brought him to a mall and told him to wait for her but she never returned. Caleb was found by a police officer named Trevor Wilcox who brought him to the group home that he met Dylan in. The officer took a special interest in Caleb and would visit him often. One day the visits stopped and Caleb learned it was because Officer Wilcox was killed in the line of duty while working a mob war. That was Caleb’s main motivation to become a police officer to stop the families involved in that mob war and to continue the good work that Trevor had started. We had already stopped one of them but now it appears that we are going to stop them both. Caleb never dreamed he would ever find the actual gunman who murdered his mentor and she could only imagine the thoughts going through his mind.

Caleb stood up and slammed his fist on his desk and shouted, “I’ll kill that fucking son of a bitch!” He stormed out of the room as he slammed the door. Sandi was alarmed as she never seen her brother-in-law act this way. No matter what situation he was in he always kept his cool and handled the situation without letting his emotions get in the way. Even when force was needed to be used Caleb always knew how much to use and when it was absolutely needed. That is what made him a natural at his job.

Sandi started to run after Caleb when she realized this was a situation she couldn’t handle alone. She picked up her cell phone and hit the speed dial for Dylan. She told him to hurry up down to the station and to bring Hope with him. She made sure to tell him that everyone was physically fine but that there was an emergency that she needed their help with.

Caleb locked himself in the interrogation room as really just needed a little while to absorb it all and most of all calm down. Pip was denied bail and was transferred to Simcatraz to await his trial. Luckily for Pip he was far out of Caleb’s reach when the rage hit as even Caleb didn’t trust his self control at that moment. For years he had wanted to get justice for his mentor’s death and ironically that gunman had been right under his nose all the time. Pip was never going to see the light of day with all the evidence they had against him for sure. How could he have not seen this one coming at all had him second guessing himself and his ability at his career?

Sandi sniffed around the station for Caleb until she was finally able to figure out which room Caleb was in. The door was locked so she knocked several times but all Caleb said was that he needed to be alone. Caleb was the type who knew how to take care of others during their time of need but found it difficult to accept help when he needed it. Dylan and Hope soon arrived Sandi filled them in on the recent events. Dylan decided to knock on the door and try to talk to his brother.

“Bro open the door let’s talk about this” Dylan shouted to the closed door.

“I should have guessed that Sandi would call you right away,” Caleb said.

“Sandi is worried about you as am I,” Dylan said. “Hope is here too and she is also worried. Why don’t you open the door and come home with us?” Caleb didn’t answer his brother at all. “Bro you know how much I hate to use magic but I will.”

“I just need some time by myself” Caleb yelled back.

“No that is not what you need. You need the love and support of your family, “Hope yelled back. “Come on hun just open the door for us.”

“Stand back” Dylan said to the women. Dylan rarely used magic but his undeveloped powers never failed him when he needed them the most.

Tears to Fears, Fears to Tears

Cheers to Jeers,Jeers to Cheers

Now we know Four is the score,

All we need is to Open that door!

Sparks flew from Dylan’s wand towards the door. He walked up to the door and turned the knob. The door opened without any problem. Yep he magic never failed him whenever he needed. As he stood there ready to walk into the room he knew this was not his job to do anymore. Dylan was old and wouldn’t be around much longer but Hope would always be there for Caleb. Dylan looked at Hope and stepped aside.  He held the door open as he motioned for her to walk in.

"I don't want to talk about it," Caleb said.

"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Hope explained. "I just don't want you to be alone right now.  It's times like these that family sticks together to support each other.  You have done it for everyone in both of our families and now you need to know that we are here for you."

"Why?" Caleb asked.  "I don't deserve it.  I should have known all along that Pip was the one.  I can't even do my damn job correctly."

"And how could you have known that?" Hope asked.

"Isn't it obvious!" Caleb snapped back.

"You had no reason in the world to suspect that Pip was the one to kill who shot Trevor." Hope answered.

"Are you sure about that?" Caleb asked sarcastically.  "My brother doesn't even like to use his powers yet they work for him."

"Hold on there one minute.  Are you blaming the fact that you didn't use your powers?" Hope asked.  "Mind reading is a power that can be abused if not handled correctly.  It's so easy to cross that line between right and wrong with an ability like that.  That is why none of us use it and it's an invasion of privacy.  You said yourself that the only time you use that ability just a tiny bit is to determine when someone is lying to you while you are questioning them. "

"So instead I was a nice guy who respected Pip's right to privacy.  He was free all this time causing trouble for MY FAMILY when I should have put him in jail a long time ago. You know what they say about nice guys,"  Caleb said.

"Stop talking nonsense!  What happened to Trevor was tragic and you found his murderer no matter how long it took.  How many others would have just left the case dormant after a while? You seen it through until the end.  You are one of the best detectives on this force. You inspired your own son to follow in your footsteps and it wasn't because of your powers.   You solve your cases using your own brain and skills. All the supernatural powers in the world pale in comparison to your skills and knowledge." Hope explained.

"I don't feel like the best detective right now," Caleb said "I still feel as if I should have done more."

"I know this had to be difficult to learn so maybe you should take some time off until the shock wears off.  You do have some vacation time accrued so why don't we go to Roaring Heights to spend some time with our grandchildren?" Hope asked.

"Hey we could use a vacation and would like to see the kids too" Dylan said as he walked in with Sandi.

"Why not after that we head on over to Isla Paradiso," Sandi said "Chrissie just found out that she is having a baby girl and I'm sure we would all love to spend some time with Bae."

"This does sound like a great idea," Hope said "The four of us on a long vacation.  What do you say hun?"

Caleb thought about it for just a moment and he knew he wouldn't be able to do his job correctly with these feelings of doubt and anger inside of him.  He also could use a vacation since he would always be a workaholic.  Seeing all the kids would be good for him and he definitely wouldn't regret spending some extra time with his brother.

"OK you convinced me.  All of you are right.  I need some time away from here." Caleb said.

Caleb's vacation turned into a very long and much needed leave of absence.  He needed the time off for himself but it also was for family emergency reasons. Trevor had just turned Carissa and she wasn't handling the change well and she felt very ill.  She needed to rest and Trevor welcomed the extra help with the kids.

It was about time that they spent some quality time with the kids anyway.  Aiden was already a teenager and the two little ones Ava and Ashley were growing up faster than they could imagine.

The four of them decided to go to Isla Paradiso right after they received word that Chrissie just delivered a healthy baby girl who she named Morgan. Bae was already accepted at Sim State University in the fall and wanted to join the Navy as an oceanographer after he graduated.  He wouldn't be moving back in with his parents so they thought it best for Morgan and themselves to move back to Aurora Skies to stay out of the hot Isla Paradiso sun.  Bae did promise to visit his parents as often as possible while he was traveling.

They stayed until Bae graduated high school and they spent the summer there until Bae left for university.  While Chrissie & Mickey was busy packing Sandi and Hope fussed over the baby and two brothers spent the day relaxing. Thankfully they had a large supply of vampiric sunscreen that Holly made on hand.  It was decided that Chrissie and Mickey would move in with Sandi and Dylan as their house was already willed to them.

By the time they finally arrived home Caleb had cooled down and was ready to go back to work again.  The time off did him good and he realized that skill and knowledge is more important than supernatural powers could ever be. This was something his brother knew already and it was about time that he learned the same lesson.  Science was always Dylan's preferred source of magic.

Caleb sat at his desk waiting for his new partner to arrive.  He was already missing Sandi and he knew he would never find another partner like her.  It was ironic that those two became so close when they hated each other when they first met.  Now he didn't know how he would do this job without her.

Taylor's boyfriend Heath walked in and shook Caleb's hand.  Caleb noticed the difference in him right away as Taylor must have turned him.

"So what brings the FBI down here to our station?" Caleb asked.

"You mean formally of the FBI,"  Heath said.  "Taylor and I talked it over and we decided to move back to Aurora Skies.  That meant I needed to leave the FBI and I joined the Aurora Skies PD.  Meet your new partner."

Caleb did like Heath so he knew this would work out but he was still the new guy. "So partner,” Caleb said with a smile on his face as there was no way he would go easy on the new guy especially a new guy who was dating his niece. "Would you mind telling me when you are going to make an honest woman of my niece instead of just shacking up with her?"

Chapter 77-Isla Paradiso

Moving from one house to another is always difficult but uprooting your life to move to half way across the world is a totally different story. There were so many details to that needed to be taken care of in a short period of time. They had to find a new house one that was preferable close to the beach, buy all new furniture, find new jobs, adjust to a new time zone and adapt to a new climate.

Chrissie found out that she did enjoy the warmer weather but being a vampire she was not used to all the sunshine. Mickey grew up in Isla Paradiso so he was used to the sunshine but that was before he became a vampire. Luckily for both of them Grandma Holly made sure to send plenty of that special sunscreen to them on a regular basis.

The couple did find a house that was walking distance to the beach but far away enough to keep two vampires in the shade. Luckily they fell in love with it as soon as they seen it and immediately put a down payment on it. Chrissie didn’t care about the price as money was never a problem for her. All that she cared about is that this house was perfect for her little family so that was all that mattered.

Chrissie did appreciate the opportunity to get to know her in-laws better as she had only met them briefly at the wedding. Mickey's parents visited often to spoil their new grandson and Chrissie soon became good friends with both of Mickey's sisters Rose and Donna.

Mickey’s family did welcome Chrissie with open arms which made the situation easier for her as she was missing her own family. She made sure to call her parents every day as well as her sister Taylor.

Taylor and Chrissie had always been very close and they hated to be separated. As luck would have it the separation didn’t last very long at all. Taylor’s boyfriend Heath was reassigned by the FBI and needed to relocate to Isla Paradiso. Taylor who was very much in love with Heath even though they weren’t married yet decided to make the move with him. The two never wanted to be separated but Heath was a werewolf and unable for Taylor to turn. Grandma Holly stepped in again to help her granddaughter and she brewed a potion which would allow Taylor to turn Heath into a vampire.

Grandma Holly may have not been born a witch but she seemed to be getting the hang of this quickly. Whenever her grandchildren needed something she always knew the right spell or potion that would help. It was no surprise to everyone when she was elected as the new president of the witch’s council a position she would remain in for a very long time.

The disadvantages of distance between Chrissie and her family became more apparent when tragedy struck her cousin Matt. She wanted so much to offer her condolences to him in person but she knew she wouldn’t be able to fly out there in time to attend his wife’s funeral. All she could do was send some flowers and write her cousin a letter telling him how sorry she was for his loss. She knew that this would be the first of many times that she wished she didn’t live so far away but she would never regret her decision to move.

Mickey applied to the Accolades Institute of Learning and was accepted immediately. He started his job at the beginning of the next school year so he had time to help with getting settled into the new home.

Chrissie was accepted to work there also but she decided to take a couple of years off as she wanted to spend as much time with Bae as she possibly could. He did have a clean bill of health but she still couldn’t relax after the few health scares he had. If the truth be told she wanted to be there to watch him take his first step and speak his first word. In a way she was still teaching but her class was limited to one very special student. She always knew she would go back to teaching but she decided to return to work when Bae was old enough to attend school himself.

In the meantime Chrissie decided she couldn’t let Uncle Ronny’s legacy die so her and Mickey opened an afterschool program in Isla Paradiso just like the one in Aurora Skies.

When Bae turned 5 years old Chrissie returned to work as a teacher and she knew it was time for her to play her part in the mission. She opened an afterschool ecology club for students who were interested and she taught energy conservation to all of her students.

Meanwhile back in Aurora Skies:

Pip sat at his desk trying to figure out how to handle his latest problem. He was losing territories left and right and only had half of what he started out with. He tried to send messages to the other families that he was not to be messed with but obviously he was still considered to be the joke of the Fae mafia. If Denny was here he would know exactly what to do but he wasn’t so Pip was on his own.

Pip needed to regain control of the Moonlight Falls territory so he called a meeting with his lieutenants. He told them that he intentions even if it meant that had to go to the mattresses. A mob war was something that should be avoided at all cost but Pip seen no other way out. The last war in Riverview was extremely bloody but Pip came out of it as a respected soldier who was able to take a cop down who got in the way. He still owned the gun that he used that day as it was his prized possession. It was locked in his top desk drawer and he showed it off often and meeting such as this.

No one ever gave Pip the respect that he felt he deserved. Even now that he was in charge of Denny’s empire he still had to prove himself to everyone including his own family. At every single meeting he had to remind everyone that absolutely no one crossed him and lived to tell the tale. Not even his wife was able to do that.  If he was going to regain control of Moonlight Falls he knew that he had to be very careful of the people he trusted however Pip did make a mistake.....

as the walls did have little ears.

10 years later in Isla Paradiso:

Being a merman Bae was drawn to the beach and spent as much time there as possible. He enjoyed the sunny days and hearing the sound of the waves as they washed in on the shore. He enjoyed swimming in the ocean as he felt at home in the water. Everything about the ocean fascinated him and he had already made plans to study oceanography at university.

He often ran into another boy who was on the beach as much as he was. His name was Cassidy and he was two years ahead of Bae in school. He had the same love of the ocean as Bae did but Cassidy wasn’t a merman he was a human. The two boys became best friends and did almost everything together especially spending hour and hours on the beach.

Cassidy’s dream was a little different than Bae’s as he wanted to study meteorology along with oceanography. The navy did offer jobs where both oceanographers and meteorologist worked hand in hand together. The two boys planned that some day they would both join the navy and they would live out their dreams. Being older Cassidy left for university first and in two years Bae would join him.

To be continued…..

Chapter 70-It's a Heartache

Spending an afternoon shopping with Taylor, was always something that Chrissie always looked forward to but not today as she expected her sister to talk endlessly about her new boyfriend.  It seems that cousin Chelsea was doing a little matchmaking while she spent her time on "The One"   Chelsea asked one of the bachelor's Heath Black to deliver a message to Taylor.  What he didn't know is that message was a secret code between the two girls for "Here's a hunk for you.  Enjoy!"  Chelsea could have never predicted that the two would fall head over heels in love at first sight, but that is exactly what had happened.

The two sisters stopped for lunch and again the topic of conversation was how happy Taylor was with Heath.  Her every waking thought was of Heath and she went on and on about the little things he would do for her.

Every night he would stop by with a bouquet of flowers and occasions like their 1 week or 2 week anniversary did not go unnoticed. Her face lit up when she talked about him and she was practically glowing.

Anyone including Chrissie could see that Heath looked at Taylor as if she were the only woman on Earth.

When Chrissie returned home she wondered why Taylor was always the lucky one who got everything perfectly right from the beginning.  Chrissie never had that type of relationship with Dimitri. At one time Chrissie thought she had, but the events of a cold snowy day made her realize that she really never did. When she first met Dimitri all she could think about is finally she had a boyfriend and that was the most important part of it all, she had a boyfriend.  In the beginning she had to admit that he was all hearts and flowers, but those days are long gone.  She now questioned everything about her relationship with Dimitri as she knew she didn't love him as she should, but she also knew she couldn't leave him.  Dimitri stood by her during all of her episodes, he promised he would help her end all this.  If he would do that all for her she couldn't leave him, but she also knew that her heart belonged to another.

With Mickey it was different because he wasn't just a potential boyfriend, he was someone special and she knew it.  When he first arrived in town they immediately became good friends, who she loved to spend time with.  She felt a connection to Mickey and it was a connection so strong that it drew her closer to him without her even realizing it. That snowy day she almost kissed him and she would have if Dimitri didn't interrupted. The temptation to kiss him was still strong so she avoided him at work.  She had no choice but  to be strong and restrain her.  She was a horrible person who did horrible things and Mickey deserved someone so much better than her.  She had to keep avoiding him for his own good, but when the doorbell rang it became apparent she couldn't avoid him any longer as.....

Mickey was on the other side of the door.

Meanwhile:

Dimitri:  What in the world are you doing here?  You know it’s not good for us to be seen in public.

Dahlia:  Face it, I don't trust you.  I want this situation taken care of and besides if there is any money to be made on this deal, I want in!

Dimitri:  There will be no money to be made if we are ever found out.

Dahlia: You are driving that girl to suicide so you can inherit her money.   I'll sing like a canary if I don't get my fair share.

Dimitri:  You will be implicating yourself if you do.

Dahlia: Hmmm.... It's you they will really want and I will hand you over to them on a silver platter.  I don't have to remind you that her family carries a lot of influence, and I don't only mean the Landgraabs.  Her father’s family is very influential as her Uncle is in the Top 1% in Barnacle Bay and they are very protective of their own. I'll strike a deal to get off with community service or my sentence will be light but you will get life in prison with no parole.  Please refresh my memory,  how many years do you vampires actually do live for?

Dimitri: Ok I get your point, Chrissie is loaded.  I will cut you in.

Dahlia: Hopefully you won't mess this up, like you did years ago in that park.

Dimitri: That is because I didn't do the job myself.  I hired an incompetent and of course her bitch of a mother had to come and ruin everything.  Had she only stayed human, life would have been so much sweeter.

Dahlia: Well Starr did not stay human and that potion didn't kill Chrissie.  Your plan failed. Can you please tell me what the plan is now?  I hope this one is better and will work.

Dimitri:  Indeed this is a better plan and I am handling it myself.  You know what they say if you want a job done right, do it yourself.  I have been using hypnosis, she thinks she is going out turning vamps on her own and she can't stop herself from doing so. She has a lot to learn about being a vampire; those vamps she is turning are going willingly. She doesn't have it in her to do it against their will not even under hypnosis. She doesn't have that power yet nor is she aggressive enough to acquire that ability. They want eternal life and when she offers it, she is doing them a favor, but alas she doesn't know that.  I'm using that to my advantage.

Dahlia: And how is this going to make her commit suicide.

Dimitri: I promised her that I would help her stop this madness inside of her and I indeed will as I am controlling her mind and actions with hypnosis.  I will command her to pick up a pistol loaded with a wooden bullet place it against her head and then pull the trigger as this will be the only way she can stop herself from doing these heinous acts.  This will happen, after we are legally wed and I command her to write a suicide note.

Dahlia: And just what is the reason for her to go over the edge in the note?  Turning Vampires? Shouldn't that come naturally to your kind?

Dimitri:  Yes she will need more than just turning vampires.  I will anonymously inform the board of education about her activities at night, saying that she is unfit to be teaching children.  It’s the only reason I let her keep her job.  This should also close down that afterschool center she works for also, which I will sell at the first chance I get.

Dahlia: So you thought of everything.

Dimitri:  Indeed I have, I think it’s probably time for me to make arrangements to marry that sweet little imbecile.  I can't wait to see the expression on her bitch of a mother's face when I call her "Mom"

The two laughed and made arrangements for a rendezvous or two while they worked on their evil plans for Chrissie.  Neither of the expected that they shouldn't have been discussing any of this in a public place because their view of the table behind them was blocked.

This same restaurant was a favorite of Ronny Landgraab and only did he hear every word as clear as a bell, he always carried what he called his recording gadget and he had every single word recorded.

He tried to walk out without being noticed, but it was too late both Dimitri and Dahlia seen him walk away from the table.

Dahlia:  Isn't that Wolfie's brother?

Dimitri:  Yes it is that is Chrissie's Uncle Ronny.  Damn!  Damn! Damn!  We shouldn't have been talking here.  I'm going to follow him and find out if he knows anything.  I will take any steps needed if damage control is necessary.

Meanwhile at Chrissie's:

Mickey: May I come in?  We really need to talk.

As Mickey walks in Cheech walks up to sniff him.  Mickey extends his hand to allow Cheech to sniff him again and then he starts to pet him and he rubs his belly.

Mickey:  Oh look at you!  You must be Cheech.  Your mommy has told me so much about you and you are a good doggie.

Chrissie:  Well that he is and he has taken to you quite easily, unlike Dimitri.

Mickey:  I have been trying to talk to you for days now.  If I didn't know better I would think that you were avoiding me.

Chrissie:  Not avoiding you, I have been doing a lot of thinking.

Mickey: I have been thinking too.  Something happened between us and I know you felt it too.  I seen it in your eyes.

Chrissie:  That shouldn't have happened; I'm not a free woman.

Mickey: Oh yea that is right, there is Dimitri to think of. For months you have been depressed and crying on my shoulders because of the miserable way he treats you.  Tell him to go take a flying leap.

Chrissie: There is more to this than you understand.  I'm not the person you think I am.

Mickey: You're a wonderful person who deserves to be happy.  If you give me the chance I will treat you with respect the way you deserve to be.  I promise you we can be happy together.

Chrissie:  You don't understand, you deserve a girl better than I am.  I do horrible things and you do not know what I am capable of.

Mickey: I know you well enough to know that is not true.

Chrissie:  But it is true.  I have no control of my actions and I hurt people. I shouldn't be saying any of this, I have already more than I should have.  Dimitri is going to help me end all of this.

Mickey: Shouldn't be saying what?  Chrissie you can talk to me.  You should know by now that you can trust me.

She looked at him and knew right away there was nothing she couldn't tell him.  He always listened to her and never judged for one minute. He clearly loved her as much as she loved him, so he deserved to know truth.

Chrissie:  I go out at night and I find victims to pass the vampirism curse to.  This wouldn't be so bad if I knew for sure the victims wanted the curse but I don't.  It’s been done in my family before, my father and my uncles they have all done that but my mother and aunts wanted to be turned.  I don't want to go out at night and I don't want to do this but yet I can't stop myself.  I can't be with you as I might hurt you.

Mickey:  Why don't you let me make that decision for myself?  I am sure you will never hurt me physically but if you send me away you will break my heart.  Something about all of this does not sound right to me, you are not that type of person, you are the most loving caring and friendliest person I know.  Haven't you talked to your family about any of this?

Chrissie: No I'm afraid to.  I don't want them to know what I am.  I was going for professional help but Dimitri said I shouldn't.  He said I could lose my job if I did, he said he would help me.

Mickey:  Why don't you let me help you!  I'll stand beside you and I will take care of you. Together the two of us can handle anything.  I love you Chrissie and I know that you love me.  If you can look me in the eyes right now and tell me that you don't love me.  I will go back to Isla Paridiso and never bother you again.  Now go ahead look me straight in the eyes and say it.

Telling lies was something Chrissie could never bring herself to do and she knew she couldn't look him straight in the eyes and say those words.  This is when she noticed that Mickey was looking at her the same way Heath looked at her sister as if she was the only woman who walked the face of the Earth.  Dimitri never looked at her that way.

She felt that same magnetic force pulling her closer to him and this time their lips did meet.  His lips were so tender and she could feel his love for her the more they kissed. There was no denying anything after this, she loved him and he knew it.

At the Afterschool Center:

Ronny needed to call Caleb and Sandi so they could arrest that bastard at once before he had the chance to hurt Chrissie.  He also wanted to make a copy of the recording for Chrissie and he planned to give the original to the police for evidence.  As he finished he labeled each of them, one said "Give to Chrissie Slayer" and the other said "Give to Police-Evidence RE:Dimitri Bautista & Dahlia Goodfellow"  He also made a note for the police with the date, place and time of the recording.  He was about to call the police when he heard a noise downstairs so he went to investigate.

Ronny:  What are you doing here?

Dimitri:  I seen you at the restaurant and I was hurt that you didn't come to say hello to me. Now I hope I didn't do anything to upset my future Uncle.

Ronny:  Don't you ever call me that!  I deeply regret the day my niece ever set eyes on you.

Dimitri:  Such harsh words and we are going to be family.  I plan to propose to Chrissie tonight.  I do hope you can come to the wedding in fact why don't you be my best man.

Ronny:  That is not going to happen, you will be in jail before that wedding happens. You messed with the wrong family.

Dimitri:  In Jail?  Surely you jest?  Old man you have a lot to learn but there isn't enough time to teach you.  I'm sure you and your niece will have an eternity to spend together. Don't even think of grabbing for that wand.  I'm a helluva lot faster than you old man and I will knock it out of your hands before you know it.  Your magic is useless against me.

Ronny:  You son of a bitch you are not going anywhere near my niece again.  We are all onto you, as soon as Caleb and Sandi get here they will know the truth.  You....  STAY AWAY FROM CHRISSIE!

In the end the stress proved too much for the old man heart and Ronny felt pressure build up in his chest which traveled to his back and shoulders.  He was having trouble breathing and he knew he had to get to a hospital.  He grabbed his chest as he fell to the floor.

Ronny: Am..bul....ance, please.  Please

Dimitri turned around and walked away, leaving the old man on the floor.

Dimitri: Hasta La Vista baby.  Your niece will join you soon enough.
