Chapter 42-Jackal and Bat Investigations

Being home to take care of her baby was important to Sandi, but she was counting the days until she could return back to her job.  She missed working and was eager to get into the investigation of her husband's disappearance and the Alto double murder case.  If she could prove that Brandon was guilty of that crime which everyone suspected he was, he would be locked away for the rest of his life and finally she would be free of her stalker.

Caleb would come home every day and update her on the status of both.  There was just too much work to be done on both cases and he couldn't handle the work on his own.  Brandon Alto was in jail awaiting his hearing as the judge denied bail, this made life easier for him but he still needed his partner back.  Sandi and Caleb were a team and they did their best work together.

In the meantime a little werewolf took priority over everything.

Starr always seemed to make her way to the terrace where her parents spent hours just watching the stars.  It was almost as if she knew the significance of this area and this is where she insisted on doing everything including learning how to walk.

They had a couple of oopsies at first but in the end Sandi was able to teach her.  Before you knew it hurricane Starr was not only walking but running, terrorizing the house and getting into almost everything.  Both Sandi and Caleb spent half the day chasing and cleaning up after her, the other half was spent Starr proofing the house.

Starr's next lessons were talking which Sandi insisted would be done inside due to the rain.  Starr was not getting her way on this one.

Sandi felt it was best to tell Starr about the mission and her purpose in life at an early age, just like her father did with her.  She was born to spread the word to everyone to protect the environment before the world self destructed.

It was a lesson her daughter picked up easily.  Grandpa Emmett did say the fates were helping them with their mission and this was a sure sign to her that it was.

Starr learned how to talk and became quite the little chatterbox.  Talking a mile a minute and not stopping for a second.

She was also quite the charmer and she had her uncle wrapped around her little finger.  According to Caleb the sun rose and set on his niece and he spoiled her rotten.

Starr was even able to get him to sit in the sunlight to read her a book.  Sandi had to call both of them in before things got ugly and later that day Sandi called Grandma Rose and asked her to make a batch of vampiric sunscreen for Caleb.  Sandi already knew Starr would talk Caleb into that again.

Soon enough it was time for Starr's birthday and Sandi found herself testing her baking skills again.

The whole family gathered for the birthday

But again only Uncle Caleb was celebrating

Starr blew out the candles

Generation #5 Artistic, Eccentric and Party Animal.

As soon as Starr was settled in at school, the time was right for Sandi to return back to work.  It’s been over 5 years and still no one was able to find Dylan, and now that Sandi was able to devote some time to work she planned on making this her top priority along with the Alto murder case.

The night before she was scheduled to return to work she received two visitors, her Uncle Jules who also happened to be her boss.

And Grandpa Chris who was now elected Governor.

They asked to speak to both Sandi and Caleb, but with the looks on both of their faces and the tone in their voices made Sandi know whatever they had to say it wasn't going to be good.

Jules: We both came here today to give you some news that you are not going to like.  I just ask that you do not shoot the messengers.

Chris: Jules has been fighting with internal affairs all day and I was called in to help.  Before you two hear this, I give you my word we did everything possible to stop everything that happened and we will continue the fight.  It's not over, not by a long shot.

Jules: Oh how do I begin this?  I guess I will start with the worst of it all.

Brandon Alto has been released and is walking free as we speak, his lawyers got him off claiming that Caleb used excessive force during the arrest.

Jules: Caleb you are one of the best officers that I have and it's killing me to tell you this, but internal affairs have put you on suspension until a full investigation has been completed.  As Chris said we are not taking this lying down and we will continue to fight.

To say that Caleb was livid would be an understatement, he was mad as all hell!

Caleb: So you mean to tell me that nut job can break into this house, violate a restraining order and attempt to kidnap and attack Sandi and he gets to go free and I'm the one under investigation!  This is INSANE!

Jules: I'm sorry and I agree with you, but the Alto lawyers have been doing this for years.  They always figure something out.

Caleb: What kind of a law system do we have if the criminals can do whatever they want and just get away with it?  We all know that Brandon killed his parents and we can't even bring him in. Circumstantial evidence!  This case should go to Sandi and I and we will get real evidence, but instead I'm suspended for doing my job!

Sandi: Oh this has to be a joke!  Enough fooling around it’s not possible that Caleb is suspended and Brandon is free.  Caleb is the best officer on the force and we can't lose him, not to something like this.

We are supposed to be working tomorrow solving the Alto murders and finding Dylan, we need to work together on this.

Jules: Sandi there is more and this is about you.  You have been ordered off of both those cases, a conflict of interest.  If you are caught stepping near either one, they can and will take your badge.

Sandi: When I signed up to work on the force it was to keep crime off the street and to protect the law abiding citizens of Moonlight Falls.  Now I find out that not only do the criminals run free but our own superiors are holding us back from doing our jobs.  Suspending a fellow officer who works hard and is dedicated to his job and allowing unsolved cases to remain that way.

I'll be working on both cases and I don't give a damn what internal affairs says!  My daughter is growing up without her father and Brandon is dangerous to us all if he remains free.

Chris: Sandi you need to calm down, we are going to fight this.  I missed your father's childhood due to the Altos and we doing everything in our power to bring Dylan back.  All is not lost, Grandpa Emmett is telling us to continue the search.

Sandi:  If Grandpa Emmett says it than I know Dylan is out there and he is alive, we need to find him.

Caleb: If your Grandfather is a psychic that knows that, WHY DOESN'T HE TELL US WHERE MY BROTHER IS?

Chris: Caleb it's complicated but Holly and Emmett have cleared you to know the truth about this family, Sandi will fill you in later.

Sandi:  I'm working on both those cases no matter what, especially now that I know this.  If internal affairs want my badge they can have it as I am turning it in.  No one is talking me out of this as it's not open for discussion anymore!

Caleb:  I used to call that girl Princess and Rich Bitch, but I was so wrong about her!  She has more determination and motivation than anyone I have ever known before.  If anyone is going to find my brother and bring Brandon to justice it's going to be her and I plan on being right by her side when she does.  Tell internal affairs to save the tax payers money because I am handing in my badge too.  I'm going to help that girl find my brother and together we are going to bring him back home.

Both of them turned in their badges and since they both had a license to be a private investigator, they opened Jackal and Bat investigations.

Meanwhile Brandon Alto walked free

Brandon was told by his lawyers to stay far away from the McIntyre house, which he planned to do until everything blew over.  The voices inside of his head was telling him otherwise, he kept hearing the words "betrayal" and "punishment" which he planned to make Sandi pay, but only after she bore him a child.  He needed that same satisfaction that he felt when he killed his parents but who, who would be the victim?  It couldn't be Sandi and he was not going anywhere near the vampire, but he needed a victim!  The voice of his Uncle Nick told him that his Aunt Vita betrayed him and that someone needed to pay for that.

Argus Brown, the man who turned Abigail Landgraab into a werewolf and forged DNA test results was the same man who married his Aunt Vita.  Aunt Vita should have never betrayed Uncle Nick but she was already dead, so she couldn't be punished.  The man she married was still alive and he would be the one to would receive the punishment.

Argus always went to the hospital early every morning so just before the break of dawn Brandon waiting outside of his house and shot him dead as he walked out.

Chapter 18.3-Mrs. Brown you have a lovely daughter

This chapter was originally posted on 3/2/14

Vita: My very own daughter Holly Alto, woohooed with young Mr Landgraab?  Well now this is information I can use.  Your debt to us is paid in full and your services in this matter are no longer required.  We can transport you back to Hidden Springs now.

Abigail: I'm not going back there, this is my home especially now after what your husband did to me.

Vita: You consider this your home?  Look at me when I talk to you?  This is your home with that young man?

Vita: This day keeps getting better and better.  Your face lights up when I mention his name.  You have feelings for him.  Well now I insist you stay in town, you can watch while we bring your young man down.  Obviously you will not say a word while we do this.

Abigail: Obviously.  Now can I get out of here?

Vita: Yes you may but we will be watching.

Abigail runs out of there like a bat out of hell.  She couldn't wait for the day that she wasn't under their control.  She thought when this day would arrive she would feel free, but she does not yet.  They are still in control and now they have more information on her.

Vita: Holly Alto, how could you woohoo with someone like him.  I still think his family is responsible for your father

Holly: There is just something about him that I couldn't resist.

Vita:  When did this happen? Did he force you into anything you did not want to do?

Holly: Almost a year ago.  Mother he was honest, it was I that was a little naive.

Vita: Almost a year ago?  So you could be the mother of that baby, the timing is right.

Holly: but I am not the mother of that baby.

Vita: The young man does not know that

Holly: No mother I am not claiming that baby, besides a DNA test will prove I am not the mother.

Vita: Don't you think I have already taken the DNA problem into consideration?  Your stepfather is Chief of Staff at the hospital.

Vita: Argus gave your good for nothing cousin a job in the hospital's lab, which will come in very handy right now.  Those DNA results will show you as the mother.  Hopefully Jareth won't mess this up.

Holly: You are evil mother and I won't do this!

Vita: You are my daughter and you will do as you are told.  We won't make our move yet.  The young man needs time to form an attachment with the child, than we make our move.

Bonus Shots:

Amy as a child.

I am loving Master Controller!  Amy grew up as a teen in a hideous outfit so I was able to pretty her up without controlling her.

Even when I don't control them, they still flirt (right in front of their son) and they are still my cutest couple.

Jules the blue haired werewolf.

Chapter 18.2-Abigail Cardona

This chapter was originally posted on 3/2/14

Meanwhile at the Altos:

Vita aged up into an elder.  She also had Nick declared legally dead so she could remarry.  She requested Jareth to once again bring Abigail to see her she needed a progress report.

Vita: This is your last chance, you better tell me you have something we can use.  Your father is already living on borrowed time.

Abigail: This whole situation is making me sick, yes this time I have something you can use.  This information should pay my debt in full.

Vita: That depends on how good the information is.

Abby knew this was a betrayal would destroy her friendship with the only person who ever really believed in her.  Saying the words would truly make her sick but what choice did she have?  Her whole life was one disaster after another.

Abigail's story:

Abigail Cardona, grew up in Hidden Springs, her mother Renee died when she was a child.

Her father, Victor Cardona had a gambling addiction, he was unable to control.

He lost all their money and their home.  Sleeping in the park was a way of life for her ever since she was a child.

Her father's gambling was a true sickness, he always thought that he could hit it big if he had just a little bit more money.  Sometimes he won, but he lost it all over again.   Victor made the mistake of borrowing money from the local loan shark, Nick Alto's brother, Bert Alto.

Vita needed a young girl to help her with a special project.  Someone to gather information on a person she planned to blackmail, someone who would blend in and wouldn't be noticed, and most of all someone they could control.  Bert knew that the shy, ordinary and quiet daughter of the man who owed him a load of money would be perfect for the job.  The Alto family gave Abigail a choice to work for them or her father would be sleeping with the fishes. Abigail agreed to do this one last thing for her father, but after that she was never going to return to Hidden Springs again.  His gambling was not going to ruin her life anymore.  If he did not seek help, he was on his own.

Abigail doesn't remember how she arrived in Moonlight Falls or when Vita's new husband Argus Brown turned her into a werewolf.  All she remembers was waking up on the floor as a werewolf.

and Vita standing above her, shouting out orders.  When she thought that Wolfie was an egotistical womanizer, she had no problem with this assignment.  Now she knew him for the person he really was inside and he was wonderful.  How could she do this, but then again how could she not?

Vita: Well girl come on.  I don't have all day.

Abigail: He has a child out of wedlock.  The mother abandoned the baby on his doorstep and he doesn't know who the mother is.

Vita: The child out of wedlock is not out of the ordinary, but maybe if we could somehow find the mother that might work.  Honestly I do not know why so many women are attracted to him.

Just at that moment a girl walks in and Abigail recognizes her from the gym.

Abigail: Why don't you ask her?  She was one of his overnight guests.
